Desperately Seeking Help!!

APPOINTMENT OF A BRANCH YOUNG MEMBERS OFFICER

The Branch is looking to fill a new role of Young Members Officer. The role will include liaising between existing local young members and the Branch Committee; arranging social events for young members where appropriate; initiating and implementing ideas to recruit new Young Members including liaising with Student Unions at our local universities to see where there may be scope to promote CAMRA and recruit new members.

The full job description can be downloaded here Branch Young Members Officer. If you are interested in this post, please send your details including your CAMRA membership number to the Branch Secretary, Mike Thomas email ku.oc.liamtoh@1samoht-ekim

Thanks to the efforts of a couple of Branch members, plus one from the South East London Branch, we managed as year or so ago to complete the survey of all, yes all, Medway pubs. Take a look at http://www.whatpub.com, find Medway pubs and click on any to view it. However, pubs are frequently changing, and apart from those chosen for the next GBG, most of the other entries will not be surveyed again in the near future without your help. There is a facility on the website to email the branch with any corrections and amendments. Please help us by doing this, at least for your local (and you don't even have to be a CAMRA member). It doesn't even have to be a Real Ale outlet (though we would like it to be!). We can send a pdf of a survey form if required. If you are visiting a pub in our area, please find the time to check owning company, manager/tenants name, opening hours, facilities, food times, any permanent ales etc. Our branch representative for matters relating to What Pub is Colin Maskell, who is responsible for the upkeep (via pubzilla) for Medway, but he can only input what he is given. He can be contacted by email: moc.liamtoh@yllebreeb_niloc
We are now expanding WhatPub to include all clubs in our area, even those that don't sell real ale or cider. If you belong to a club in the branch area, or visit one from time to time as a guest, Colin would also be grateful to receive details of those venues.

We are also attempting to add photos of the pubs and clubs, so if you have any, you can download them onto our Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/331001837948) and we will use them on the site.

Thanks in anticipation.
